The Galilee Eskimos אסקימוסים בגלילSaturday, March 21, 8:30 pmGRATZ COLLEGE
The Galilee Eskimos is set in a kibbutz tucked in the hills of
Galilee. When the kibbutz goes bankrupt, men, women, and children
abandon their homes and shockingly leave behind a dozen residents of
an old folks’ home who are left to fend for themselves. A contractor
who has a deal with the creditors arrives at the kibbutz shocked to
discover that these senior citizens were abandoned. These feisty old
folks, while feeling initially depressed and betrayed by their
relatives, begin to regain hope of rebuilding the kibbutz by
themselves. Israel 2007 -- 99 minutes Awards: First Prize in Berlin Jewish Film Festival Tickets: |
